Happy Birthday

Here's another challenge card I made this past weekend:

This is my take on the current sketch at Your Next Stamp:

which I rotated:

I had part of a panel left from a Gelli print which I used as the main panel on my card. I just added the horizontal card stock strips which were cut from remnants on my desk. One of these days I'll find the bottom of that remnant pile!

For the sentiment, I used the Happy Birthday from my Mama Elephant Make A Wish set. It's perfect for this kind of sketch.

I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment since I wanted to use my Archival black ink, and my ink pad is in dire need of re-inking. Sadly, I don't have (or can't find) my re-inker, so until a new one arrives, I get to stamp and stamp and stamp again until I get good coverage. I think I did five or six impressions. Then I had to let it dry.

Once the ink dried, I finished assembling the layers.

I love how easy these Gelli prints are to use as backgrounds. I haven't made any new ones since my initial effort, but as soon as the pile thins, I'm all over that. I even have some new Martha shimmer paints to try.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I was wondering if you'd reached the last of your gelli prints yet... obviously not. Very pretty in your trademark blue and green!

  2. I like the look of your gelli prints, so definitely I will stay tuned for whatever you create next with it. Like, casually, not like with baited breath. Although given that lunch I had today....

  3. A very fun birthday card! Thank you for joining our challenge at Your Next Stamp!

  4. Great card and love how you used the sketch!

  6. Isn't is awesome how the MISTI has no trouble with all that repeat stamping? Great take on the sketch - thanks for playing along with us at YNS!

  7. What a great clean and graphic take on the challenge. I too love my MISTI and I use it all the time to get clean stamped images. Thanks for joining in the fun at YNS and sharing your card for sketch #27.

  8. Love the large birthday sentiment!! Thank you for joining us at Your Next Stamp! Hope you will join us again next time!!
