I'm Gonna Do It: The Great Scrap G-I-V-E-A-W-A-Y

Ever since I thought about this the other day, the idea has been growing on me. Just think - if I had that whole shelf, or even part of it, available to me, I'd organize all my PTI stamps and ribbon and papers and inks. I even have the whole 'after' image in my brain, and it is sweet.

Unfortunately, this is the current image of the shelf in question:

A year or two ago, I invested in Elfa and gutted, painted, and assembled the new innards of this closet. And yes, one whole shelf is dedicated to just card stock scraps. How wasteful. Especially if you could see the rest of The Other Room, where this closet lives. That is not so pretty.

Here we have Reds, Greens and Blues. I think the Reds also include Orange and Rust.

Here we have Pinks, Yellows and Purples. You can see Pink is not my go-to color.

To the left of the Pinks are two boxes of Neutrals (Whites, Creams, Vanillas, etc.) and another of Black/Brown/Gray/Kraft.

All scraps are less than half of an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of card stock, and almost all of them are SU colors. I think there is some stray White and maybe some other mystery pieces in there.

So I am going to do this! Welcome to my Great Scrap G-I-V-E-A-W-A-Y. All you have to do is tell me your favorite color and I'll pack up an 8 1/2 x 11 envelope and ship it out to you. Really!

Why am I doing this? Is it a shameless plug for comments and email? Maybe. Is it because after 5 years I am sick of looking at those boxes? More likely. Is it because I have no stampin' to post tonight and I still need reassurance that you are all still out there? Even more likely.

So that's it! Leave me a comment if you'd like, or just email me at lqhanna@gmail.com, telling me your favorite color and where to send it, and it shall be done. I will alert you as to when the goods are all gone.

Thanks! Next up: My newly-organized PTI stuff. I am soooo looking forward to that!

  1. I can't wait to see the "after" picture :)

Just in case you did not know, my favorite color is red!

  2. What a great way to clear out your closet and make way for new scraps! My favorite color is purple -- I love the way I can use it both for masculine cards and pretty feminine cards. I love your blog -- I read all the time from out here in New Jersey. I still don't have any SU colors -- haven't gotten around to that part of the ordering yet. But I would definitely like to start my SU DP collection!

  3. Hmm.. purple is a fave and so is reds... so I do love greens!

Actually, I like most colors...not real picky and I share with my kids and a few senior ladies.

Meant to also say... I was watching a program on Ireland the other day and they were showing a shopping area and it looked just like your "town" cards you make! It was so pretty ! Just rows of those colorful buildings. Made me think of you. :)

  4. Hi Leslie,

This is Tina, your newest SU customer. :) I just found your blog, and it'd be awesome if you included me in this giveaway. After all, you witnessed my stingy use of adhesive, which means you can infer how I feel about scraps.

I would love any color you feel like sending my way! Do you still have my address?
