Elvis Has Left The Building

One of the things I like to do when living in someone else's stamp room is to use their stamps, especially the ones I don't have. It's the best way to play!  So I scanned Libby's wall o'stamps (part of which is featured here) and made this:

Elvis! I couldn't believe she also had the Thank you, Thank you very much sentiment. These are both from Cornish Heritage Farms, from whom we apparently both bought a lot back in their former life. CHF has since been sold/bought and re-born, but they no longer carry these.

I stamped Elvis with Archival Black onto both Distress watercolor card stock and Neenah Solar White card stock. I wanted to color the blue background with Distress ink and a water brush, and I wasn't sure which one would work out best. I didn't use water in my water in my water brush -- just smooshed some ink onto my craft mat and spritzed it lightly, then picked it up with a dry water brush.

My experiment turned out to be a wash. (hah, so punny) The image stamped better on the Neenah, but the watercolor paper warped less. I put a ton of adhesive on the back before mounting to a black layer, so in the end I think the Neenah looks best.

I followed the current Stamplorations Bi-weekly Sketch Challenge:

I hope you're all caught up on your blog reading, because I plan to fill your feed in the next few days with the cards I made at Libby's. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

ETA: OMG, I WON, I WON! I get to be a guest for next month's Stamplorations sketch. Wheee!

Stuff I used: Cornish Heritage Farms Jumpsuit Silhouette and Thank You Very Much stamps, mystery thin black card stock, and the following:
