It's Tuesday, and time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash. This week's theme is Mirror, Mirror, and we'd like you to use something reflective. Think: foil, mirrored inchies, shiny card stock -- lots of options!
I chose to use shiny card stock, and I made this:
And no, I have no idea what is reflecting in the glasses. It should be the desk of my ghetto photo studio, but it looks more like the surface of Mars. Anyway, it's shiny.
I spent an inordinate amount of time making this card. I was following the current Sweet Sunday Sketch:
and my colors were from this challenge:
Unfortunately, this is a sketch challenge, not a color challenge. An honest mistake! So I was merely influenced by the sketch to use those colors. *ahem* I went with a darker blue, but I still like the combination. Needless to say, I won't be linking up over there.
So, got something shiny and reflective in your stash? Why not drag it out and use it, then link up with us at SOS!
Thanks for stopping by!
Stuff I used: Kate & Co. washi tape, SU DSP remnant (the blue), Misc shiny silver card stock, SU 2-way glue pen, Memory Box Cosmic Star set, and the following:
this is Awesome, love your take on the sketch and the colours of the other sketch, I giggled when I read that I'm glad someone else does the same dumb things I do lol.ReplyDelete
Shiny things! This is a cute card, love the colors you used.ReplyDelete
ok, see, i would've assumed that was a color challenge, too... in fact when i saw that graphic here it's EXACTLY what i did think until i read the words. (is it sad that i'm heartened not to be the only one who does stuff like that??) meanwhile, they did work EXCELLENTLY as colors for your card, and the fact that the bloggers in question didn't intend that is a v nice bonus, imo! meanwhile awesome use of THE OTHER sketch & brilliant idea to do mirror shades!!! ♥ReplyDelete
Fab takes on the sketches! Love the shiny shades and all those stars!ReplyDelete
I have that washi tape. It is one of my 300 or so rolls. I had it out because I was trying to decide if it was an impossible to use color or not. I do actually have some to downsize, duplicates or the ones that have weird collage-y bits on them and some off colored ones (like weird colors not snarky, shit I'd keep those!) Anyway! Love your fancy mirrored sunglasses! And I enjoyed the close up of Mars.ReplyDelete
The mirrored, strange-reflection sunglasses are awesome! You should totally get credit for using the colours of the sketch challenge.ReplyDelete
I love that one lens is reflecting chrome/black, and the other is the surface of Mars. Great take on that sketch, and also great take on the colors of the other sketch. LOL!ReplyDelete
love this card, and love the funky reflections.ReplyDelete
