Meow

Here's another card I made while visiting a friend and her craft room two weekends ago:

She had the new Simon Says Stamp Woodland Rectangular Frame die that I wanted to try, and I had my new Mama Elephant Purrfect Pair stamp set and dies, and this is what came out. I had my trusty wood-patterned paper pack with me, and I thought it tempered the frame a bit. I wanted the kitties to be the stars here. :)

I was also following the now-expired Nacho Average Challenge to use these colors:

I used the blue and green for the kitties' background, and the wood background paper stands in for the slate.

The heart was left over from one strip I die-cut with the Memory Box Heartfelt Delights die way back at the beginning of my crafty weekend. I used them all weekend long, and I might still have a few hearts left 10 days later.

One thing I've found with these frame dies: it's way easier to adhere the inner rectangle first, then fit the frame around it. With some of the larger frame dies, I use the negative as my guide for placement. Either way, you want a solid, non-flexible piece to use as your guide. It's the only way I've found to get it remotely straight.

In other news, today I mailed all my holiday cards, and now I plan to CRAFT. I hope to be back later this week with a few more challenge cards.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Awww! What sweet little kitties. You'd never know that they want to steal your soul and eat your heart while it is still beating. I'm thinking that woodland frame is a must have one. Wonderful card!
