Not Your Average Bluebird

Today I traveled over the river and through the woods to my LSS to take two card classes from the one, the only, Shari Carroll of Hero Arts fame. I'm so fortunate to have a great LSS (Hi, Angela!) that always has great products on the shelves and great classes for us to take.

When I left for class, I didn't plan on shopping, since I have a huge online order coming my way next week. Also, I don't do Christmas cards, and these were Holiday card classes, so I felt pretty safe in not NEEDING everything we touched. I did pretty good (well) not buying Christmas stuff, but, well, there may or may not have been other things I needed. You know how that goes, right? And we must support the LSS after all, right? RIGHT? Oh, did I mention she had washi by the sheet? Uh-huh.

So after I got home and vegetated for a while, I decided I needed to justify some of the new loot, so I made this:

The Buzzard and sentiment are new (Art Impressions Buzzard Set), and I paired him with some orange and grey papers from the Basic Grey Ambrosia 6x6 pack.  I just love that look in his eye, don't you?  I may be able to have him say other things, too. heh heh

I messed up when I stamped him, and had to resort to cutting him out, so I needed a background. I used a Cornish Heritage Farms backgrounder stamp called Trees (really) and stamped it with SU Going Gray. I had to cut up the sentiment since it didn't fit, but I kinda like it that way.

I followed the amazingly not-expired sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I think I'll break into some more of my new goodies tomorrow and do some more sketches. I have an itch. :)

Thanks for stopping by!
