Foxy Miss You

I was recently enabled to shop for dies at Frantic Stamper. If anyone tells you blogging is free, they are liars, because once you start looking around at other people's blogs, you see ALL THE PRETTY THINGS and then you shop.

I used to frequent Frantic Stamper many years ago, long before they had an online shopping cart and you had to email or call in your order. A loooong time ago! So it was nice to go back and check out the new (to me) site.

They have Frantic Stamper exclusive dies that I needed to check out. I was enticed over there by this post on Amy Kolling's blog. Naturally, I needed a few more than I thought I did, so I've been playing in the craft room to justify my purchase.

I just made this:

The design idea came from this card by Jana Millen, but I used a Frantic Stamper fox die (new) and my Savvy Dies birch trees dies (old and still virgin). I cut the fox and trees from some MME wood-looking papers. I cut the fox out twice, once on the front and once on the reverse side of the paper, so I could paper piece the dark pieces from the back of the paper into the lighter paper front. Did that even make sense?  I might need a nap.

[Insert 2-hour nap. Wow, I guess I was tired.]

The hills were cut with my Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes & Hills dies, layered flat. I cut the birch trees from some white-ish wood paper and tucked them behind the hills. I added some tiny clouds and a sentiment stamped in brown.

I felt it still needed something, so I die-cut some tiny birds out of some weird specialty paper from my Heaplet and added just one of them to the tree. I think he's just enough. :)

I'm linking this up to the OWH Mid-Month Throwdown to make a Winter Love card.

Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I love your card. I just wish that it didn't look like that outside my window right now :) I have to say I REALLY agree about looking at cards on blogland not being free - I have a bunch of stuff that I feel that I HAVE to HAVE now :)
