ric Orange

I played the current Runway Inspired Challenge:

not because I give a hoot about fashion (unless it's in a Land's End or L.L.Bean catalog), but because the color made me think of my new Simon Says Stamp Coral Reef ink pad, and this was the perfect excuse to use it!

Here's my card, then I'll explain:

There is some major stash usage on this card, and yes, I am very proud.

The bird paper was in a small (very small, really) pile of WTH do I do with this stuff 12x12 papers that didn't make it to the box of remaining 12x12 papers that made the de-stash cut. I love the colors, and the coordinating piece of paper that also lives (lived) in the same pile. I cut a piece of the bird paper and rounded the corners.

The orange (apricot) chevron washi tape is from a collection of chevron washi tapes I purchased in an unguarded moment. I have all the colors, but none of the love for these, so they are rarely used. I thought a piece of it would be good here to pull in the idea of the hourglass design on her dress.

The sentiment was stamped with SSS Coral Reef ink onto a piece of the same card stock I used for the card base. When I did farmers markets and craft shows, I spent a ton of money at clearbags.com. In addition to clear bags, they also have some awesome linen card stock, pre-cut and scored. I have both white and cream, and this is the cream. I also have the matching linen envelopes, of course.

The button was made using the coordinating piece of card stock for the birds. It's striped on one side and polka dotted on the other. I thought the stripes looked better here. I punched five 3/4" circles and glued them together. Then I punched holes in it with my Crop-A-Dile, threaded some twine through a few times, then stuck it to the sentiment piece. I covered it with Glossy Accents and left it to dry.

I kinda like how this one turned out. And I've since cut up the rest of that bird and striped paper, and it lives in The Heaplet instead of in a WTH pile. Baby steps, people, baby steps.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stuff I used: misc card stock/paper, and the following:
