FINALLY I've finished my card for the current Jingle Belles challenge: The Holly & The Ivy:
This was my 3rd or 4th attempt with this idea, and I finally made one I didn't trash at the very end. Stamping is HARD, people.
First I die-cut the wreath to use the negative as a mask for the embossing paste. The negative was actually three pieces, so that was part of my challenge. I finally got it, though, and it's very shiny. And yes, I've said finally three or four times already, I know. It's been a tough few days here.
So "this is not foliage", you might say, and so you might! But I disagree!!! A wreath IS foliage; I just chose to make mine white. Also, the background paper is made of pine trees, and if that isn't foliage, I don't know what is!
I actually started out with this wreath in green (I used Ferro) on Kraft. It looked nice, but I killed that card in a strange crafting mishap. It was boring anyway.
Oh, here's the shiny on this card:
Here you can see the pearlescent embossing paste and the embossed greeting. It (the greeting) was stamped with Hero Arts Silver pigment ink and clear-embossed.
Now that this card is finally finished, I can move on to a new challenge. :) Thanks for stopping by!
