SOS #159: Wooden Ships

It's Tuesday, and that means it's time for a new challenge over at Shopping Our Stash. This week's theme is Wooden Ships, and we ask you to use something wood veneer on your project OR you can use a sailing theme.

Or, like me, you could do both:

I used wood veneer boats. :) This card was way fun to make. I distressed a piece of water color paper (why water color, I have no idea) with Tumbled Glass for the sky and Salty Ocean for the ... ocean. A few tiny clouds, some colored wood veneer boats, a sentiment, and it was pretty much done. I added a layer of blue card stock for contrast and put the whole thing on a white card base.

And no, I did not add in any birds in flight, because I'm not sure how far out to sea they are, and then they'd have to be white, anyway, so pffth. No birds.

So, I think you should play along with us over at SOS this week. I do! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Stuff I used: misc blue card stock, and the following:

  4. Pffth on birds anyway ;) The starlings in the carport (all 4 separate nests, gawd) are on their second round of babies this summer. Pffth on those birds ;)
I really love that sentiment - and the perfect teeny clouds!

  5. Have you ever watched that show Deadliest Catch? They are out in the middle of the wicked cold Bering Sea and there are almost always seagulls around so no telling where you'll find birds. Love the little wooden boats. I only just now got some wooden elements. It's taken me this long and I'm clueless what to do with them. I see use them just like you would chipboard elements! Yeah, I rarely use those either.
