Jingle Belles Rock - Softly Falling Snow

For this week's Jingle Bells Rock challenge, our guest belle asked us to use something soft. Some possible items are: batting, velvet, fibers, denim, thick layers of embossing powder, soft silk flowers and snowflakes, pillow stickers & upholstered brads! Really, anything your brain can come up with that is SOFT, it doesn't have to be only papercrafting products that you use, either! I encourage you to pull out those quilting, knitting, sewing, & flocking skills!

My brain immediately went to my stash of felt snowflakes, and I made this:

The base paper is A Muse Studio card stock I bought through my pal Mary Dawn* - it's The Night Before Christmas story! I stuck the snowflake to the card, added some SU Dazzling Details, put a Kraft corduroy button in the center (it's soft, unlike bling - gotta go for bonus points!) , then pondered the sentiment. I ended up using Seasons Greetings from one of my Kim Hughes CHF sets, and put it on a scrap of red ribbon so you could see it!

I may get time this weekend to make another "soft" card. In the mean time, you should go over to Jingle Belles Rock and check out what others have made, then join us!

Thanks for stopping by!

* If you need to scratch your A Muse itch, Mary Dawn has the link to her online store on her blog. Plus, she's crazy-crafty, so check out her cards while you're there! :)

  1. I gotta say I am not a big fan of red snowflakes but this one really looks good. I love the greeting, too. I need to check out Kim Hughes' new stamp line one day.

  2. I just stumbled across my bag of big felt snowflakes this morning when I was cleaning my studio ... now you're taunting me to actually use them ... love that texty paper ... and yes, you do get bonus points for that corduroy button (not sure exactly what those points are worth, but what the heck) ... thanks for joining us at jingle belles.

  3. I totally LOVE the look of this card - basic, classic lines - and the text for the background is awesome!

  4. This is a beauty, L! I love the red snowflake and your "soft" button. I'd totally give you bonus points for that; I have those buttons in blue…they are really soft!

  5. oh wow, oh wow, OH WOW!!! this has gotta be one of my favorite cards of the whole year! just everything about it is PERFECT from the background paper to the greeting to that amazingly cool red snowflake on the clean crisp white! (plus yeah... definitely bonus points for the corduroy button!!!) :) :) :)

  6. Hi Leslie! I LOVE LOVE this card! The text bg, the soft snowflake and brad, the sparkle you've added, and the simple sentiment, PERFECT is every way. Thanks for playing my prompt at Jingle Belles this week! :)

  7. lovely! the background paper is gorgeous and the red snowflake is such an eye-catcher!

I'd love to hear what you really think! :-)
