OCC: Stenciled - Day 2 Homework

Moving to Day 2 of my homework for the Online Card Classes Stenciled class. Today we learned a few more different ways to use our stencils, and I followed one of Kristina's examples for my card:

I used a Heidi Swapp hexagon stencil, and colored in the shapes using my Derwent pencils. And even though I am okay with cutting my stamps to make them fit, I used a sentiment that didn't lend it self to being hacked, so I improvised and made part of the white piece wide enough to hold the word and just trimmed the rest of it.

I also used another of my Hero Arts Tsumugi cards for the base. Man, I hope I don't cave and go online to buy more of these papers. They are quite yummy.

One more addition: I covered the red hexagons with my clear Wink of Stella pen to give them a little wow factor:

It's pretty! :)

I'm off to do a few challenges. It's windy and snowy and blowy outside still, so hunkering down in the craft room sounds perfect.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Very clever. Until I read the description (yes, I look at the photos first) I though the sentiment was on a separate layer.
