Flowery Thanks

I'm still working on that pile o'papers. Funny, just the act of touching* all of them refreshed my memory of what was in The Heaplet, and now I'm inspired! See, you people who put everything away when you finish a card are really missing out on a ton of inspiration!

Here's my latest creation:

Papers are SU; dotted vellum from ... I dunno; flower from Webster's pages, I think; Memory Box die under the flower ... I'll show it in a sec; and sentiment by moi -- I cut it with the Silhouette. Please note: unlike my last card, I did remember to actually put a mini glue dot under each of the carefully placed pearls, thus securing the top edge of the vellum layer.

I followed this sketch from Clean & Simple:

although I might have blown the CAS part of the challenge. ;/

Ready for some details? Here we go:

The die-cut Thanks uses the monoalphabet font. I really like the mixed case.  After I typed the word, I ungrouped the letters, moved them so they overlapped a little, regrouped them, then welded them together so they would cut out as one piece.

See that stack of stuff on the right? Before I stuck on that flower, here's what it looked like:

I'm using scraps, people! :) Yes, I'm very proud. I decided on the green flower only after three failed attempts to make one of my own. Sigh. In the end, I really like the green one, so I'm pretty happy with it. In fact, I'm pretty happy with the whole thing!

Alrighty, then, another day shot to ... I mean, another lazy, crafty day here in the Crooked household. I think I'll shower now and start my day.

Thanks for stopping by!

*Never under-estimate the Fondle Factor.

  1. Ha! Those neatniks are missing out. I actually shoveled mine out today and am now staring at a pile of scraps. You've inspired me. I love that green doily dealie bopper!

  2. You are the Queen of using-up-your-scraps and I always like what you come up with. I just toss mine out most of the time.
