SOS #133: Use Something New

It's Tuesday, and time for another challenge over at Shopping Our Stash. For the new year, we'd like you to use something new. That's right - go open something, either something you got for the holidays or (like me) something you've had for a while but not used yet.

Here's my card, then I'll explain:

Yes, that's a baby card. A bag of elephant buttons made it into my basket during a recent trip to a big box craft store. I went there not for stamping items, no no no no. I went in search of some supplies to make a project for someone, and along the way, we wandered past the button aisle and I spotted these cute elephant buttons. Even though I don't make many baby cards, and I rarely use orange, it was something I needed.

Saturday I had a crafty afternoon with a friend, and I brought along only the new stuff I wanted to use, including this pack of buttons, and I actually used them! Whoot! I also used my never-opened Simon Says Stamp baby words and die. Yay, me! :D

Why not play along? Did you get some new stuff lately? I think you should open it and use it. :)  If you do, come on over to Shopping Our Stash and link us up so we can see!

Thanks for stopping by!

Products used: Misc buttons, white crochet thread, and the following:

  1. well for someone who doesn't make baby cards, you definitely make fabulous baby cards, missus!!! perfect use of every element... and they add up to even more than the sum of their (AWESOME!) parts! :)

  2. Great baby card, I would have totally taken a tour of the crafty aisle. Although i know the stock as well as the clerk in Walmart I still take a trip down the aisle lol.

  3. Elephant buttons?? Who could NOT buy those?? Great card...it feels soooooo good to use something new!!

  4. Fabulous baby card Leslie! That cute elephant button is adorable and I totally understand how it had to go home with you! LOL!

  5. That's so cute. At first glance I thought the elephant was a die cut. A button! Ha!

  6. Elephant buttons! It's not like they're sock monkey brads :)
This is freaking adorable. And now I really need to get some new craft stuff...this challenge is making my wish monster hungry.

I'd love to hear what you really think! :-)
