Playing With Scraps

I am in Day 3 of using scraps on my cards. Okay, not "scraps", but the left-over parts of the paper from prior projects. They need love, too.

First, I am pleased to announce that all your "use the Macro setting" comments made it through to my brain and I think I did a little better tonight with my photos. What do you think:

I also learned that (1) the camera has no view-finder ;-( which I think is part of my problem when trying to hold the camera steady, and (2) with this many pixels, I need to shrink my photo before I add my watermark, or the watermark gets really, really small.

Next, do you remember my comment that I think cupcakes and owls are the new pears? I used to have a collection of pear stamps because they were everywhere. Now all you see are cupcakes and owls. I have decided not to buy into either one of these fads; however, I had to buy this the other day:

Isn't it crazy cute?! It is from Hero Arts. I stamped it on Very Vanilla and colored every other row of feathers with my Copics, then layered it on the same stuff I used for the first card. Now all I need to do is decide which one of these to use for the third (remaining) card base!

Since I was on a roll, using something new plus something from my stash, I decided to channel June and made this:

That whole channelling thing? June is really good at using things like the triangle piece of paper I had left from something else I am working on. I had the Maui Cows stamp in the stash, as well as the DCWV card base. The star is punched with the SU small star punch, and the button is also from the stash. The sentiment is new, but I bought it with this cow stamp in mind, so I consider that a planned purchase. ;-)

That's all for this evening! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. That's much better. I found it hard to adjust to viewing the photo through the screen and not having a viewfinder too! Love the owl...and the cows are too cute...you're on a roll with using up your scraps....if only I could be that inspired :)
