Happy Tuesday! It's time for another challenge at Shopping Our Stash. This week we ask you to use a tag on your project, or create a tag.
I knew immediately what I'd use on my card, and I'm very happy to say this is a true stash project. A while ago, at least a year or more, I purchased a stack of wooden tags. Why? I have no idea. I mean, I have craft wood and making a tag is sooo easy, so of course I bought some anyway. They have been languishing on my desk until now.
Here's my card, then I'll explain:
It's paint. I broke out my Distress paints to justify their purchase. I made about 4 versions of this tag and decided this one was my favorite of the bunch. I used three different colors of paint, then spritzed the tag with water to help them blend. Since I have a standing desk, they got real runny because of the angle, so by the time I got to this one I was smart enough to stick something under the bottom of the tag to stop the running and let it just dry.
You may notice it's shiny. That's because I still wasn't in love with it, and I spied my bottle of Goosebumps, which is supposed to add a shiny texture to the surface. It might have if I hadn't sprayed it on so thick. So yeah, I've waited most of the day for stuff to dry.
The XOXOX is a now-opened die from WPlus9. I cut three or four layers and glued them together, so it's almost as thick as the tag.
Okay, now it's YOUR turn. Go into your stash and find a tag, or make one instead. Then use it, post it, and come back to Shopping Our Stash and link us up so we can see what you've made!
Thanks for stopping by!

well, i can relate to the, "UGH this thing will NEVER dry!!!" frustration of MAKING the tag... but... from a spectator's view point the trouble was WELL WORTH it, since this is soooooooooo very ♥FAB♥!!! love it!ReplyDelete
That sounds like a lot of work, but it was worth the wait - it's gorgeous!ReplyDelete
LOVE the colours! And I've been wanting to try the Goosebumps too...it just looks like fun stuff. Cool idea to knot the ends of the twine tassel!ReplyDelete
super tag- love the bright colors!ReplyDelete
OOooh! Awesome colors!! I hope to be able to play with some of these paints some day. I have no clue what Goosebumps is, but it made it all shiny and shiny is good!! Love the bold colors with the white background and black "xoxo". VERY pretty!ReplyDelete
Leslie - This is such a fab card! And your post made me laugh....all your experimenting and new stuff, sounds like some of my adventures in my studio!! Great work!ReplyDelete
